Holistic Therapy Overview

Applied kinesiology is a complementary practice developed by chiropractor George Goodheart in the 1960s. It is based on the idea that manual muscle testing help practitioners explore patterns of stress, function, and wellbeing. In practice, muscle testing is used by practitioners as a way to consider how the body may be responding to physical, emotional, or environmental Allergens and stressors.

What a Session May Involve

An initial consultation usually includes a discussion of medical history, current concerns, lifestyle factors, previous injuries, and personal goals. During the session, the practitioner may ask the client to hold specific positions while gentle pressure is applied to selected muscles. Practitioners may describe muscle responses as part of a broader assessment of balance, stress, or support needs, or desensitization. Where appropriate, a practitioner may suggest supportive self-care approaches such as relaxation strategies, lifestyle adjustments, or complementary products. Any remedy or product will be considered carefully, especially if the client is pregnant, breastfeeding, taking prescribed medication.

Tera Mai Seichem Reiki

Tera Mai Seichem Reiki is described as a complementary energy-based practice that combines elements of Reiki and Seichem. Practitioners present it as a gentle, non-invasive approach intended to support relaxation, grounding, and overall wellbeing, with an emphasis on the connection between physical, emotional, and spiritual experience. During a Reiki session, the practitioner may place their hands lightly on or just above the body while the client remains fully clothed. Many people use Reiki as a relaxation-focused complementary therapy, and reported experiences often include a sense of calm, rest, or emotional ease. People who choose Reiki often do so to support relaxation, stress reduction, emotional balance, and a greater sense of clarity.

Support for Animals

Some owners and practitioners use complementary approaches such as Reiki within broader animal wellbeing support. These approaches may be chosen to encourage calm, comfort, and gentle handling, particularly during periods of stress, change, recovery, or end-of-life care.

My Introduction to Kinesiology

I was introduced to kinesiology 26 years ago, when one of my twin sons suddenly developed severe eczema. At just three months old, he had painful, inflamed patches on the top of his head, in the creases of his arms, and behind his knees. He scratched constantly until the skin bled, and it was distressing to see him in so much discomfort.

At the time, he was being weaned, moving from three to four months old, and I couldn’t understand what was causing such a strong reaction. A friend suggested that I visit a kinesiologist. I knew nothing about muscle testing, food intolerances, or how these might affect such a young child. I was also sceptical about how they could test him by testing me instead. Still, I felt we had nothing to lose.
I gathered samples of everything he might be coming into contact with in our home — washing powder, everyday foods, cow’s milk, fruit, bread, eggs, soap, and anything else I thought could possibly be triggering an allergic reaction. During the session, my son lay on me while it was my muscle strength that was tested. The kinesiologist placed small vials containing different substances on my son’s navel while muscle testing was carried out on me.

The results were astonishing. When certain substances were tested, I was completely unable to resist the pressure — I simply couldn’t push the practitioner away. Through this process, we discovered that my son was lactose intolerant. I was advised to remove all dairy products from his diet and replace cow’s milk with sheep’s milk, goat’s milk, or soya milk. Although these still contain lactose, they are often better tolerated by people with lactose intolerance.

I began ordering frozen sheep’s milk from Wales — around 30 pints a month — and bought local sheep’s cheese and yoghurt. Our entire family diet switched to sheep’s milk products. I continued this for a full year, and the results were incredible. His eczema completely cleared up, he didn’t go on to develop asthma, and he became a happy, comfortable little boy again. After a year, I slowly reintroduced cow’s milk.

He is now 26 years old and does not suffer from any food intolerances or allergic reactions.

Testimonials

" I contacted Annabelle for help with my very itchy Skye Terrier.

Using kinesiology Annabelle worked remotely and identified yeast skin and gut issues which matched the vet's diagnosis.
She arranged homoeopathic remedies for Raven, who has been taking them for the past two months, and her skin and yeast problems have now cleared up.

I would wholeheartedly recommend Annabelle and kinesiology for getting to the root of the problem.

Thank you for helping Raven, she sends you a huge hug, and for being so kind and thoughtful.

Bridget Carter."
